Energy Minister Anil Vij directs strict action to Ambala SP in the case of Gurpreet Singh’s death due to a gunshot in Garnala
Chandigarh, May 2 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij has instructed the Superintendent of Police (SP), Ambala, to take strict action and ensure the early arrest of the accused in the case of the death of a young man, Gurpreet Singh, who died after being shot near Tundla last night.
Sh. Vij visited the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment today and met the family members of the deceased, assuring them of all possible assistance in this matter. The minister immediately called the SP and directed that the accused involved in the incident be arrested as soon as possible.
While speaking to media persons, he said that the incident involved alleged cattle smugglers who were transporting cattle at night. When the police got information, two police vehicles pursued them. The accused opened fire, and a bullet hit Gurpreet Singh, a resident of village Garnala in his constituency. He added that the postmortem report will clarify whose bullet caused the death. He further mentioned that strict instructions have been given to the Ambala SP to apprehend the accused at the earliest.
